You may have seen many of us in the wedding world refer to our "friendors," and Katie from Rose Gold Events is the very definition of one! A "friendor" is another wedding professional who we have a great relationship with, and who we typically love to refer.
I was blessed to work with Katie back in May at Springfield Manor and got to see her work come to life. Everything went so smoothly, despite the rain and a few hiccups the day of the wedding. The bride and the groom later told me Katie was their best investment!

How and when did you become interested in event/wedding planning?
Growing up I loved planning my birthday parties and my mother always hosted parties at our house. When my friends started to get engaged I found myself helping them plan their weddings and the rest is history.
What services do you offer? Do you have a specialty?
Full, partial, and 6 week out Wedding management packages as well as styling packages to help with decor and the overall event vision. I also have a venue acquisition package to help clients select the venue.
What's your favorite part of the process?
I love hearing about my clients' love story and personalities and infusing it into their special day. We do this by incorporating their engagement story, hobbies, or favorite songs into their wedding.
What can people expect when they book with you, and on their wedding day? What is your role throughout the timeline?
It depends on their planning package. For full planning I’m there every step of the way while for my management clients I tie up the loose ends the last 6 weeks. I want my clients to have fun and enjoy the process of planning and ultimately feel like guests at their event.
What do you wish people knew about planning services? What should they keep in mind as they plan their wedding?
Don’t stress about the small things, you are marrying the love of your life surrounded by your favorite people. Don’t stress about the planning I’m here to help break it down so it’s a fun process.
What sets you apart from other coordinators?
I’m passionate about events and love them. I consider your event vendors a team and we all share the ultimate goal of giving you the best day ever. I have formed many wonderful friendships with former clients and friendors.
Any unique experiences you'd like to share?
RGE travels and we have had the pleasure of doing 4 events in Charleston SC and I’m always ready to go back!
Do you have a favorite style when it comes to weddings?
Ah so tough to choose! I love the elegance of a classic dc hotel to the laid back coastal vibe of a wedding overlooking the water. I love that every wedding is different, it keeps me on my toes and allows me to challenge myself design wise.
